jimmystrauss - congratulations. This is SEO and I can confirm all point you have written. I use exactly what you mentioned since about 4-5 years (so without any manupulation of SEO, but optimization of the page) and although my PR is constantly 3 (it was 4 for some months) all my optimized keywords are on places 1-20 in GG, so on the first GG-search site.

As I'm moving from another system to presta I hope presta is also passing through my optimization efforts equal as to the old system. The time will show it.

3) Do not add a link to the forum signature.You SERPS.Why not see the difference? it's like the entire site, link exchange, but more important.

Yes also this is very important and I fully agree tho this. I have the same experience on that.

You can respond this by yourself: if you don't have a project which ist not based on developing software, so you will set spam-ref by yourself if you set a link in a forum for software. As SERPS are channeling themes they don't see one link set in a softwareforum to be a good content for you if you sell clothes. Linking will only bring you ranking and good content if of the same theme you are in.

Also if you set again, and again, and again in all your posts, SERPS see this as spam and will ignore them or penalize it. So is better to search good theme partners and build-up your links slowly as setting them in forums from other themes and this also by mass.
