[SOLVED] Images broken after update!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

After updating from 1.1.0.5 (or something like that) to 1.2.5.0, all my product images are broken.

You can see it here: bettafootwear.com/CrownYourFeet/shop

I think i might possibly have to "Regenerate Thumbnails" in the settings. However that didn't work!

One strange thing i noticed during the update process was that i couldn't get the installer to pass the permissions test for the /img folder. On that page, there were red checkmarks for all the folders who didn't have write permission. I chmodded all the folders (recursively) and all the checkmarks turned green except for /img.

No matter how many times i tried and refreshed the installer, the /img folder remained red as if the permissions are denied.

Thanks in advance for the help!

EDIT: all the images work inside admin area! just not on front end!

EDIT#2: images work just fine on actual product pages and category pages, just not on the homepage/frontpage. Doesn't matter what theme is activated.

Dear Apprentice
Is it possible let me know how come you fix it?

Hey Mir-Aus, first make back-up of your .htaccess file (if you have one in you store directory).

Then go to to the "tools" tab then "Generator" page then regenerate your .htaccess file!

All done! :)

They should add this to the installation process because some people may not know!

If only some files are missing, not all, then it means that the images themselves are missing, and so the image links aren't broken. In that case, I can't help you. You'll have to upload images to img/p with the right filenames, or edit those products in the Back Office, remove the broken images, and re-add them.
