Grouped orders

Hi,

I would like to extend Prestashop to handle grouped orders. By this I mean several people deciding to have their orders delivered to the same address (e.g. a workplace) at the same time. This can reduce their shipping cost.

There does not seem to be a module available for this. Does anyone know of one ?

There is the notion of "groups" in the backend of Prestashop. But I can't see how this is integrated with the frontend - can the customer even know which groups they belong to ?

It seems that providing this type of functionality will require modifying the internals of Prestahop and cannot be done using only modules, does that seem reasonable ?
