[SOLVED] Removing numbers from friendly URLs

Is there any way to remove the numbers from "friendly" prestashop urls?

For instance... www.mystore.com/2-widgets

to


www.mystore.com/widgets


I've seen some threads on this in the forum, but none really completely addressed a solution, and the suggestions written did not work. Any help is appreciated!

See this post. It is not a good idea to do this for large catalogues, but for smaller catalogues, you can add .htaccess rules for each category and remove the ID in the getCategoryLink function of classes/Link.php.

Thanks Rocky. Upon following the link I stumbled upon another thread that has a great module for this as well. I saw the thread before, but someone has since updated the module so that it's now compatible with 1.2.5 and 1.3.

For anyone who can't read French and is looking for a solution to this problem, just use Google translate and follow the directions given by Fugu design.

The module worked perfectly for me and I had a fully working solution in 5 minutes.
