ScooterCk
Please help I feel like I'm going crazy with trying to move the website from the sub directory I placed the Prestashop 1.6.0.14 website in whilst I built the site. Now the site is built I want to put it in the root directory and index the site. However, I have followed all the instructions online and even followed the video from temple monster and it still doesnt work. To detail what I have done, the website is currently in a directory called /newsite and I want to move it to the root 1. Gone into the SEO & URL part of Prestahop BO and change base url from "/newsite/" to "/". 2. FTP copied everything from the /newsite directory to the / directory 3. I cannot log into the BO or access the website, for some reason it keeps sending me to /newsite/index.php ?? I have checked the ps_shopurl and this is set to base url of "/" and the correct domain, so what is redirecting me to /newsite/index.php? the only way I can log back into the site and access the site again is to restore the backed up SQL and then the site works fine again in the /newsite directory. I have checked the file permissions on the .htaccess and these are 666. I though prestashop 1.6.0.14 was easy to change the sub directory. This is driving me crazy, can anybody help me please?? musicmaster
I am not sure what this could be. I would delete .htaccess and the content of the cache (as you can't access the BO that means deleting files).
ScooterCk
I've already deleted the cache files and the .htaccess and still the same, I cannot understand what is redirecting to the /newsite directory even after changing the base url? Pulling my hair out this side lol Scooterck

musicmaster
What I would do in this situation is a text search both in the database and in the textfiles for "newsite".
ScooterCk
Found the problem , I must have set the MultiStore option to enable and put the /newsite as the main url, switched off and now working okay Happy Days Please close this thread - solved
