Ask your provider to read out the server error log files. Seems that your site has some restrictions server sided and the translations could be not saved.

The error log will give you the exact hint to the server setting, which should be than adapted. ;) I presume it is a restriction on max_input_time or max_execution time. Both of them should have the value set to 300 (standard is 30). 30 means 30 seconds, which for some scripts of Prestashop is not enough and they than will break before ending.

hi, thanks for your reply, i tried modifying this var but the error is still happening, the server allows 150 as its maximum in this var.

Say that when i click to save on the localitzation -> translations -> whichever i want, it lasts less than 5 seconds to redirect me to that error :(

Are you talking about vars_input ? I was talking about max_execution_time and max_input_time, which are other settings. Max_input_vars should be set to 10000 !(ten tausend). If your server does allown only 150, so you have to search for another provider or package. 150 is not enough for to work with Prestashop.

max_execution_time 150 as its maximum

post.max_vars 10000 as its maximum

request.max_vars 10000 as its maximum

get.max_value_length 10000 as its maximum

sry if i didn't explain properly

Besides your server is running mod_security. this should be disabled. Which php-version are you using ? mod_security is not supported anymore by php-versions 5.4. onwards.

If you are not able to disable this server sided (ssh or cPanel/Plesk) than you can disable security mode on back-office on tab: preferences -> SEO & URL's -> disable mod_security = Yes

If you are using php 5.6. than the mod_security should be disabled by default on the server. You should report the problem to your provider. All php versions higher and incl. 5.4 work only if you have Modsecurity 2.7.x (RC or higher) installed on your apache.

Please revert with the problem to your provider, cause it is a server configuration problem.

It is a problem of your server configuration on module mod_security. Cannot say which error it is, because the HTTP Staus Code your server is giving (419) is unused and something sepecial added by your server administrator. You should revert to your provider, or the person which configured the server.

  • 1 month later...

after fighting with the hosts' providers to make them answer the ticket, the cause of this issue is one php variable that affects the translations, or so it seems. They didn't tell me wich it is, by the way, they were the ones who modified it.
