beatngu
I love prestashop,i do belive in it ,its a fantastic product!!.But the prestateam is stabbing user like my in the back with no developer documentation.I would love to make my own modules and share them with my fellow users.I know you make your money this way,and i dont have problems with that what so ever.(every 1 needs food on the table)Its easy to just buy a module, but i dont want to buy it i want to lear it myself!!!And with more developers it wll make prestashop stronger.Im going to lear it anyway!!!I will not stop before i have learned to make my module, and know how EVERYTHING works in prestashop.Dont care how long it wil take or how many months i have to spend reding tutorials over and over again. If there should sill be no information when im ready with learing ALL abut prestashop.Ill make my OWN site with ALL free presashop tutorials.(just dont expect it anytime soon)
razaro
So many question marks :-)And i agree with you it is fantastic free product and with lack of documentation in some areas. But Presta team does great job with constant updates, bug fixes and new features and i hope they willmake batter documentation when time lets them. And about making a module here is one quote The answer is that it's either very easy to do (if you're used to programming in PHP using objects and classes) or very difficult! The best way to learn is to take one of the simpler modules and play with the basic code until you understand the basics of how it works. You don;t need much code for a "minimal" implementation.Paul And some linkshttp://www.ecartservice.net/17072009/writing-your-own-prestashop-module-part-1/http://www.sandfighter.net/e-commerce/how-to-create-a-simple-display-module-for-prestashop/http://www.marghoobsuleman.com/blogs/how-to-create-prestashop-moduleshttp://ardianys.com/tag/prestashop-modificationhttp://esdev.net/ultimate-prestashop-toolkit-50-resources/
beatngu
thanks alot for your reply and the information links. The best way to learn is to take one of the simpler modules and play with the basic code until you understand the basics of how it works. You don;t need much code for a “minimal” implementation Yes indeed thats what i have been doing, ripping modules appart to understand the function. Now im close to do what i want, but with NO thanks to the prestashop.I find it strange that you have to turn to other forum/website to actualy learn about prestashop.I have wasted alot of time on developing my website just because the lack of documentation.I had to search for months to actualy know what i needed to know. And everything learned from diffrent place,i should have learned here.Im NOT going to give up on prestashopi ts the BEST,i just hope that they will wake up and get the documentation out.You need to open up for developers, they will allsow help you on makeing ps better.Users are turning to other cart system beacuse they miss small feature/functions they need.
