rocky
Some servers are configured in a way that you need to modify PrestaShop for emails to work. Try following the steps here.

hotspur
Hi,Just had the same issue. Please check if you have an email template for shop language. There are 3 languages (en, es, fr) in standard package. Put appropriate templates for your lang if you using different language in your shop. The templates located in /modules/mailalerts/mails/.

ghomi
Hi All, Just had the same issue. I have everything fine in BO (Advanced Parameters > E-mail , Customer > Contacts, etc, mail system PHP) I have the language directory under /modules/mailalerts/mails/ (it's a non-engilsh shop). The last thing what was missing: (I don't know why, my shop is upgraded from 1.4.7-1.5.0.17-1.5.4.1) Transplant the mailalert module to actionValidateOrder hook (you should enable "Display non-positionable hooks") found in this forum http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/240327-solved-email-order-confirmation/?do=findComment&comment=1186986 Thanks for sadlyblue I use PS 1.5.4.1 currently
