Remove Subcategories in 1.6.0.6 (Not working?)

The  No Option for 'Display Subcategory' under theme configurator in PrestaShop version: 1.6.0.6 is not working. How do I get ride of showing subcategories in 1.6.0.6????

 

I have however noticed that this function in theme configurator works on PrestaShop version 1.6.1.3.

 

Please help. I need to get ride of subcategories. (See picture attached)

I guess it was still broken. Just open your category.tpl file (theme folder) and get rid of all the

It did not work or maybe I was doing something wrong. I went into the category.tpl file and did a find a replace with nothing using <div id="subcategories">

The site became unavailable. I had to put the original category.tpl file back. 

 

OR should I be replacing <div id="subcategories"> with <div id="">?????

 

Is there no way of achieving this in the back office in 1.6.0.6?

If that option doesn't work, no, you can't do it in the back office.
You have to remove the whole div, not just the beginning
