[SOLVED] Changed product combination description not reflected at checkout and BO order page

Recommended Posts

Today I received my first order from my shop. Although I am very happy and proud, there were multiple issues that cropped up that I'm having difficulty finding related threads on the forum to help solve this. I was not quite sure where to post this thread so if any moderators want it moved, just let me know...

First Issue: Okay, so I received a Google checkout e-mail and a order confirmation e-mail from my Back Office. However, both the Google checkout product description and the Back Office order description are all messed up.
In other words, when the customer changed the product from the default product description ( 0.6gm Hawaiian Plumeria Charm in 14kt Gold ) to their desired combination (Attribute), "0.6gm Hawaiian Plumeria Charm in Sterling Silver", this description is not reflected accurately on any of the order confirmations for the item description? I guess this might stem from the item's default description NOT changing despite the customer changing the combination(Attribute)?

Does anyone know how I can fix this please? Not sure if I explained this well :-(

SOLVED: I changed the part of the code under Product in the googlecheckout.tpl to read "Description None" to get rid of the extra long description in the Google Checkout confirmation e-mail.
I also had a friend run a SQL search and replace script on all my products so that items now have a generic name (for example..."1.8gm Dolphin Charm), instead of any reference to specifics in the title (for example..."1.8gm Dolphin Charm in 14kt Gold).
This is working fine for me now.
