PS hangs when trying to save new product or CMS page

MySQL version 5.6.28-log

PHP version 5.5.34

 

 

It's a pretty fresh install. I haven't installed any extra modules besides a forms module.

 

Whenever I try to save a new product or new CMS page, the page hangs indefinitely.

 

I tried two browsers. Editing and saving an existing sample product gives the same result. I can save other settings in the preferences menu fine, so my database permissions must be ok. 

 

I disabled caching in advanced params-> performance

I disabled mod_security in preferences -> SEO

 

Nothing shows up in the Chrome browser console if I open it before cllicking Save.
