auceprod
Good day dear forumwe are a small publisher http://www.artofarts.de,we publish books and e-books and now want to change our old shop systems and put all in a new shop together. We need as far as I know a shop which provides Mulitstores! My first question to PrestaShop,is it possible to install 3 different categories in Presta shop on one side + 1 category for members only (for the authors so that they can download or purchase lower prices to shop!)Now to my second question:What server do I need for Presta to host? Are there any favorites or even free hosting / server services that you know and can recommend? Then one last question that concerns me. Is Presta suitable for my projects, especially in the area of e-books, since they must indeed be made available for download after purchase!?Thank you, apologize in advanceRegardsFrederic Bartl
Burhan BVK
PrestaShop does not have any features for multi store, depending on what exactly you need, you can achieve a multi store setting with some MySQL. If you search the forum you can find some discussion about how to setup multi store, but as I said, it very much depends on what exactly you want.Instead of a different category, you can use user groups. You can create a group called authors and give them a site wide discount. As far as I know there is not an existing feature to have a separate category for certain members. For prestashop you need a server with PHP 5 and MySQL. I have just written about it on my blog, http://www.bvkyazilim.com/cart/blog/entry/6-Finding-Cheap-E-commerce-Hosting-for-PrestaShop.PrestaShop supports virtual products. You can upload the e-book when you enter the product details, set number of days to download etc. The user will be able to download the e-books after the payment is received.
tomerg3
As whitelighter mentioned, you can create a different group for the 3 types of visitors. You CAN however give each category (and products inside it) access by the group, when you create or edit a category, you can choose which groups have access to it.
