Paypal problems

Recommended Posts

Are you UK sellers? It seems the module is no linger compatible with UK. I don't know why and I am trying to find out. The alternative is a paid module at around £200!

This module is not compitable with any EU country! Neither with CZ (look here), nor with the Netherlands, where I come from.

I think presteshop has funding problems and tries to force people to buy their modules. However, this is not the way to do marketing! Who is going to give $200 for something, if he/she is not sure whether the module works, or will work after an update...

Says:

This module is available for the following countries: France, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Turkey, Israel, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Russia.
But also Asia, Oceania and Latin America, except Mexico.

For USA & Canada, please use PayPal USA & Canada module
For United Kingdom & Ireland, please use Paypal Direct Payments module
For Mexico please use Paypal Mexico module

I don't see an update for this? I have three stores - UK, USA and Australia and I use these (free) Paypal Modules (attached). In order to access it for Australia, I had to change my default store country to an EU one, install it, then change it back. I have Prestashop 1.6.1.4

This post makes me nervous! :/

The PayPal module version 3.10.6 is the EU module and is supposed to work with most countries other than north America and UK etc. We are in HK and tried to install any other version in vain. Yet this version can never be activated because after you fill up all the needed credentials it always gives you this error message: You need to complete the PayPal identification Information in step 3 otherwise you won't be able to accept payment.

I have no idea how many carts have been abandoned because we can't take PayPal directly. We have to ask people to pretend to be paying by Bank Transfer and send them PayPal payment request separately.

Prestashop and PayPal are not really answering any questions.

I don't think I can be using this platform anymore. It is ruining my business.

Im not sure but i thing this was fixing that.
module/paypal/api/paypal_connect.php

Find

if (!$simple_mode || !preg_match('/[A-Z]+=/', $tmp, $result))

Replace with

if (!$simple_mode || !preg_match('/[TOKEN]+=/', $tmp, $result))

Hey, did anybody resolve this? I got into exactly same problem ("Error ! You need to complete the PayPal identification Information in step 3 otherwise you won't be able to accept payment." when updating credentials) after PayPal asked me to update the plugin and renew my credentials due to some known security issue... FML

Also it doesn't appear to correctly select country.

Tried the edit suggested in #17, no difference...

PayPal 3.10.10, Presta 1.6.1.3

// EDIT - workaround solution:

I succeeded in saving the preferences through older version - rolled back to PayPal module v3.10.2, saved settings, put new version back.

If you need the 3.10.2, I'm attaching it from my backup :) It goes to the folder "modules" in your PS installation obviously ;)

Hope it's not against forum rules to upload work that's not mine - but all the files appear to be open source licensed so no harm done I guess.

Thank you.

Delete existing module (unsure of version) and loaded the one you linked.

Im using 1.4.11.1

In Australia

Everything was working until I had to install the wayback compatibility module to get paypal working.

Then I had to load a new version and get verified.

Then all of a sudden this problem.

Your module had warped formatting but i could save with this and testing and it looks to work.

Thanks mate.

PrestaShop™ 1.4.11.1
