MBroadbridge
Has anybody had any experience in changing the theme from default to a purchased one on an established store? I'm looking to upgrade my site's design but don't want it to go wrong as I have over 20,000 hits per month. any advise would be greatly received! El Patron
The first thing to do is consider your PrestaShop version and compatibility of 'quality theme', i.e. do you also need a native PS upgrade? When we do client themes we copy their shop much like we would do for an upgrade of native PrestaShop. Then we install and configure the theme, back up production (make a running copy hidden for reference of any activity between capture/upgrade) and put the new shop in production. This method keeps your visitors from being impacted and with about one minute of downtime you have a cool new front office. New paid themes of quality are what's it's all about today, best visitor experience.
shokinro
No matter for store upgrade or theme application, I suggest you try everything out at a testing or development environment, never do that on your product site directly. because you never know what happens.
