Taking over a domain?

Good morning every1

I just signed in here and already have the first question.
A customer wishes to create a wine shop, but the associated domain (www.vinaiolo.ch) is already registered elsewhere.

Is it possible to use this domain as shop address? Or can the domain be overtaken by prestashop somehow?

This is a simply answer, of course If the URL is not available (another person is owner of the domain), so your customer should buy another domain (this also for SEO reasons).

 

If the URL is of his proprietary he can of course run how many pages (blog, shop, whatever he wants under this domain on a non restricted hosting package at any provider). Some providers restrict the traffic or the size of FTP, therefore I have reinforced NON RESTRICTED .

 

By the way Prestashop cannot overtake domains.... Domains are a proprietary of the regitrar (one person or company). If the domain is available for sale and the price reasonable for your customer, he can buy this, in this case he should enter in contact with the domain owner/registrar.
