Problems On Gtins (Eans As Well As Upcs) Into Products With Variations

Prestashop 1.6.0.5

 

I have around 1500/2000 products with "Size" variations (variants).

The size has been performed with a "Size" attribute.

Each variation has its own EAN-13 (GTIN).

 

Each EAN is properly made of 13 digits.

 

FRONT OFFICE PROBLEM: by searching for the EAN into the Search box, if the EAN is into the variant Prestashop search does not find it.

If the EAN is set into the main box of the product it is found.

 

PRESTABAY PROBLEM: I use Prestabay to integrate my store with Ebay. Ebay will force to have EANs for each product AND for each variation. Involic (Prestabay manufacturer) detected that the string they send to ebay is the EAN + a spooky suffix "123123123123123"

Example if the EAN into the variation is "5097295926670", the value Prestabay sends to Ebay is 5097295926670123123123123123

 

I suspect Prestashop has some problem into the handling of EANs for variations.

 

Any idea from some Prestashop [spam-filter]?
