Prestashop 1.5.5.0 Default Theme Not Displaying Properly On Mobile Devices

On my e commerce site, the Prestashop 1.5.5.0 default theme is not displaying properly on mobile devices despite the mobile theme having been enabled. The mobile theme does however display properly if I click on "Browse the mobile site" from a desktop or laptop.  

 

I would appreciate any advice anybody can give me on a way to fix this?
