piku
Hello! After migrating a working shop (1.6.2) to a new server to act as a test installation to fool around with I cannot access the frontpage. What I have done: - copied all files - changed the shop_url to "www.testshops.de/project/the-old-one" (same for SSL) - deleted all browser cookies and caches - changed all the file permissions to the php user (recursively and checked - when deleting the content of the /cache folder on the server I got a white page - I logged in the admin backend but the whole backend template is not available... (?) I recreated a .htaccess by disabling SEO friendly URLs and then enabling again Still no backend theme... I recreated a robots.txt. On the frontpage of my shop I get the following error (debug mode enabled) ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS After disabling the debug mode again I still get the same message. I can not find information how to fix this error so, please, if anyone could help me out here? thank you, piku
piku
Also when I try to disable the cache in the performance tab of the backend - the setting doesn't "stick" it always switches back to "use cache"... Confused, p.
piku
Ok, I am happy to report that I could solve the problem: Url: "www.testshops.de/project/the-old-one" this doesn't work If I use a subdomain like "the-old-one.testshops.de" - now it works. Which leaves me with two questions: 1. How can I configure the Url settings of the database to ensure I get this main url for my shop like this: " www.testshops.de /project/the-old-one/ "? 2. How to make sure the URL of the backoffice is also: " www.testshops.de /project/the-old-one/admin9876/ "? Shouldn't be to hard, I played around with the setting for "virtual_url" but I couldn't get it right.... Thx for helping, piku
