rocky
This feature has been added to Prestashop v1.3 beta 1, at least for Spanish tax numbers. It is possible to modify the validation code or disable validation. I suggest that you wait for v1.3 final to be released. It's been a month since v1.3 beta 1 was released, so I don't think we'll have to wait much longer.

rocky
Go to Shipping > Countries, edit a country, then change "Need tax identification number?" to "Yes".

rocky
It is working for me. Did you select the country you added a tax identification number to on the authentication page? The box will disappear if you select a country without a tax identification number.
taoreflex
Is there any way to change the text on the authentication page. Tax identification is going to be pretty meaningless in most countries. I have no idea what all this other Spanish stuff is about, but Spain is part of the EU, so like any other EU country, when you sell to a business, regardless of whether you're Spanish, French, or British, mostly consumer website or a strictly B2B website, if your customer happens to be VAT registered and is making a purchase for their business, you need to offer them a place to enter their VAT number so that they don't get charged VAT, or you need to inform them not to check out completely, to contact you so that you can take their VAT number and process the payment manually. So it really needs to be modified to say: VAT Registration NumberEnter your VAT registration number if you are a business making business purchases.Do not complete checkout when puchasing. Contact us so that we can process your payment manually without VAT.If a future release of Prestashop makes "Need tax identification number?" work in the way that everybody is expecting it to work when they read those four words, then the following comment would also be required:If you make both personal and business purchases, please set up separate accounts for each.As business people can't use their VAT number to avoid VAT on personal purchases.Until Spain conquers the rest of the world DNI / NIF / NIE will be nothing more than gibberish in all other nations. rocky
Go to Tools > Translations > Front office translations, click the USA flag, then scroll down to the "prestashop - authentication" section to change the tax identification text. I think you'll need to change the "prestashop - identity" section too.
