How To Assign Shipper Based On Supplier Or Warehouse

Recommended Posts

Depending on which warehouse a product is in determines how long shipping takes.  I'd like this to show up during checkout, that a customer will see that a product has three shipping options (because it's in three locations) or if the product only exists in one location, only one shipping option.

Like, I'd set up three version of UPS.  Right?

UPS 3-day

UPS 7-day

UPS 14-day

Does that make sense?  Or is there a better way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

What if the customer wants to buy different products, from different warehouses? He will have to pay for many shipments?

All our shipping is free. So they wouldn't be paying for multiple shipments.

But the big problem is, we want to let buyers know how long before they receive an item.

I'm not sure thats going to work.  So maybe I need to back up.

We have three warehouses.  A product may be in any combination of the three warehouses, but shipping time varies based on the location.

We have On-Hand, US Warehouse and EU Warehouse.  On-Hand, it ships in 1 to 2 days,  US, it takes 4-5 days and EU takes 14 days.

Right now we have the inventory of an item listed as a "Supplier" not a warehouse.  So we have "Supplier" "Supplier-US" and "Supplier-EU"

If an item only exists in the European warehouse, then I'd like the customer to know that.  But I'd also like to sell inventory on-hand first too.

(again, thanks for you help so far! :)  I've been searching for an answer for weeks and keep coming up against a wall. )
