How Can We Remove Product Id From Url?

Hi All,

 

I need to remove product ID from the url

 

eg:

 

http://mywebsite.com/12-productname.html to http://mywebsite.com/productname.html ?

 

I am using PS 1.6

You can't to that without major modifications, as this ID is used by PrestaShop to find the correct product in the database (using this ID).

I've already seen people trying to remove IDs from the URL but then you have to make many changes in the core (using overriding) and in the database, as you then need a unicity constraint on URLs (as it is in WordPress for example)

Thanks for these links shared. I already has tested that options and plugins. clean url made my site with fatal errors.

did you stop and ask your self why you want to remove the ID? 

 

And if you remove the ID and then change the product name, did you think about the implications of that?
