Free Shipping To Continental Usa Only?

In addition to my other shipping options (UPS), I would like to offer free shipping to the contental USA only. I found this thread: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/361446-free-shipping-to-continental-us-only-possible/

which got me started in the right direction but the solution is not totally clear. After spending hours reading and re-reading this thread and trying a few different options, I thought I could use a little more help to what is likely a simple solution I am overlooking.

 

What appears clear is I need 2 zones created. I labeled them as:

USA Continental

USA Non-Continental

 

What is not clear in the thread above is what states to apply to these zones.

 

I attempted to add: Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, And Distict of Columbia to my newly cerated USA Non-Continental area.

Then I added all the continental states (Alabama - Wyoming) to my other newly created USA Contental zone.

Last, I then went to my free shipping (carriers section) and set free shipping range to: Continental USA.

But when I test in the USA my free shipping carrier option does not show. I must be missing something simple here.

Never had much luck with the free shipping button. I do it like this instead

OK for anyone following the above (my original post) worked. Apparently all I had to do was recompile my template (refresh) by going to: Advanced Parameters> Performance> Force Compilation and save to get the changes to show. Yippee!
