Just got it installed, have a small issue!

I just got Prestashop installed and have a small issue. I added a few products to the home category and they were showing up on the homepage. I changed the theme to see what it would look like and the products no longer display. What would cause this? How do I get them back? A better question may be: how do I choose which images show up where?

I also should note, I'm only able to see them using a free theme, if i use the stock prestashop theme nothing comes up except for the logo. I seem to have similar issues when I open up any other theme than my token theme named "Swanky" that i got from a free theme site.
