clubbuilder
I want to offer free shipping within the continental USA (except a few products of my products), and UPS globally. Plus we want a local Dayton, Ohio opition that is also free (we deliver it for locals). For now I am trying to dermine which modules I need installed to help me fullfill my needs. I already have the Free shipping module set to North America, and installed another Free shipping and labeled it: Local Delivery. Which module do I use for global UPS shipping? According to another post I though I read the free UPS (Connect to UPS v1.4.0) does not offer global shipping rates. Does the paid UPS offer global rates? If so which paid UPS offers these rates? In the future my clients might like to print shipping labels from their control panel but I assume thats an entirely different conversation to have later. clubbuilder
Perhaps I can simply my question for an answer: I want to use UPS to ship globally. What module allows this? I don't want to shell out $110 if the paid UPS module is only for shipping labels or something like that. That is why I am asking the feature description are not clear. The free UPS module only shows domestic rates I believe.
clubbuilder
OK well I found this UPS module for $59 http://addons.prestashop.com/en/shipping-carriers/21204-ups-shipping.html It shows global rates.
clubbuilder
For all with the same issue. XPS (http://addons.prestashop.com/en/shipping-logistics-delivery-prestashop-modules/21329-xps-ship-multi-carrier-shipping.html?utm_source=back-office&utm_medium=push-addons&utm_campaign=back-office-EN&utm_content=download) is the back-office solution I was waiting for. I can compare all the shipping rates and get the lowest shipping price than any other options. Then print shipping labels. There are no up front or monthly charges they make a little money each time you ship. But you still get lower rates than anywhere else. Had to wait for them to call me, but once they did they did most of the setup and answered all my questions. Awesome service for lowest rates and to print labels directly from the panel. But you still have to have a front end solution for your visitors to return rates to charge for the initial order. So what I am going to do is keep my free shipping, and local delivery options (those are easy) but to get rates internationally I will pay $60 for the UPS module mentioned above. By the way if anyone only wants to ship domestically there is a free UPS module that will return rates. This module will return rates and collect the price up front before and during order. Then XPS will be used to get more of a wholesale shipping rate and print lables for any carrier I wish. Only 2 issue with this solution I have to buy the UPS rates module just to get me a rate up front (which is OK). I am returning rates only for UPS when in actuality I can chose any shippinig carrier later to get best rate. But that is OK. Can't tell you how impressed I am with XPS and they didn't charge me for setup fees or anything else. But still get lowest shipping price and get to print lables from their control panel. Back-end wise its a great solution. Just need to find a front end calculator to get a similar rate first so you can then charge up front. Hope this helps someone else.
