Free Shipping (Only) For Newsletter Subscribers.

Hi everybody.

 

I found only one topic about giving free shipping to newsletter subscribers, in the costumers group but no solution.

 

Is it possible? This feature would be a great way to gather more subscribers and thereby more sales.
I am not interested in sendig them a voucher with the welcoming email. I want them to have free shipping for all the time that they subscribe, so that the shoppingcart says free shipping...

 

Is this possible?
There must be more out there with this idea?
Anyone?

Hi, that is good one. I don't know if is the best solution, but I would add a customer group say "subscribers" then I would add a free-shipping carrier but instead of leaving it available for all customer groups I would assign it only to the customer group "subscribers". In this way (I think), when checking out they'll get the option of the free-shipping carrier, whereas the others (if not in this subscriber group won't).
