Clean Installation - Stuck On 34%

Hi, i tried to install version 1.6.1.4 many times with diferent settings but did not get it to work. the setup always stoped at 34%

 

I have increassed php_memory_limit to 128M

PHP version is 5.3

Mysql version 5.5.28

chmod is 775 on each dir and file

Its hosted(or shoud be) on a virtual root server with plesk 11

 

What i have found out so far via debug is that the problem occurs at \prestashop\install\models\install.php --> method: populateDatabase($entity = null)

 

Any ideas?

Thanks for your replay mdekker! I checked the logs, bur could not find anything. I uploaded a local installation, which besides works well, and as you might already imagine it works also fine (after some reconfiguration)

 

Now i'm thinking about keeping the system as it is now. I have no further idea why the original setup does not work, although i really would like to know
