Editing Contents Of Left Column In Category Pages

Recommended Posts

I have 2 categories on my site and the left column has different contents in each one. The first category has a list of the available attributes for the products that are in that category (which is what i want). The other category has top sellers listed. I've looked and looked and searched and searched and i am unable to find a way to edit what is actually displayed in the left column. i tried turning the left column off for Category to see if maybe the other category was listed differently, but it disappeared for both, so i know that the categories are listed correctly. Any ideas..? I can link to my site so you can see how it appears differently if that would help.

Images attached

- Dog Apparel has the catalog options listed in the left column - what i'd like to have in both category pages.

-Human Apparel has new products listed and i cant figure out how to change it.

The first picture shows the New products block with the human apparel the second image shows the Layered Navigation module.

What you may need to do is create a new template for the module to show all the categories you want to use the filter on, Go to modules and the Layered Navigation module and click configure then click on Add new template, Now on this page from the right select expand all and select all the categories you want to use the filter on then select the filters you want to use at the bottom of the page and save.

Now click the tabs at top of configuration page to rebuild all the indexes

The Catalog filter should now show for all the categories you selected.

You can possibly just edit the existing template if one exist then rebuild indexes.
