bellini13
Unfortunately you cannot with the software that Prestashop uses. It is 7+ years old and and does not support modern encryption that gmail and other modern SMTP gateway employ You can refer to this topic for additional information and a paid solution https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/270220-modification-swift-mailer-upgrade-better-support-for-ssltls/ I have heard there are settings in gmail that you can disable encryption, but I do not recommend doing that
catzarov
Thanks for the information. I was hoping for a free solution because the sent emails going into spam! If I use another SMTP (different from gmail) will work this feature ?
catzarov
Thanks so much for the shared solution! For my site I use service "shared hosting" and I think that the hosting provider will refuse this method for me! I'm going to write an e-mail to ask them, I hope my hosting provider to help me. tdr170
Thanks for the information. I was hoping for a free solution because the sent emails going into spam! If I use another SMTP (different from gmail) will work this feature ? Is this all mails going to spam or just certain ones, the reason I asked is I just had an issue with Out of stock emails going to spam and found that it was actually the code used in the mail. For some reason the Spam filter was seeing this as a marker of spam {last_qty} removing this and the mail came through I do not get it but the mail works now and there was another line with {qty) that shows the products available anyway. If you want to use SMTP you probably can use the mail of your internet provider, you could create another email just for the shop. If you look around in the mail section you will usually find some info on how to set up mail programs like Outlook, these settings worked for SMTP from Prestashop when I was testing.
