nuclearholocausto
I'm not sure what you meant by dimensions, but have you tried Preferences > Images this section let's you specify height and width of images. Hope this helps.
tdr170
I think in today's responsive designs this is not possible as if you specify an exact dimension rather then using % images would not scale correctly on different size screens. So in a mobile device you may end up scrolling right and left, an example of this is I created some CMS pages where our customers can download manuals and other info for the products we sell. They are basically tables and were originally gave a size the fit my screen 800px and fit in the center column nicely, these were actually made back in 1.4 days. So now with the responsive them I took a lot of time adjusting the theme looking at mobile adjusting theme looking at mobile, one of the bigger issues was those CMS pages. When on a mobile device you would have to scroll to the right to see the download buttons, I changed the px width to a % width and that resulted in a page that fits both PC and Mobile as well as tablets. So take note of this when designing your theme always look at multiple devices and make sure they all look good. Just my 2 cents.
