joshglen
I am trying to add https to the website before getting an ssl certificate. If it is necessary to know, I use aplus.net hosting. I am not sure why I receive this error when I click on the enable https protocol. https://gyazo.com/4bf2b9b0a43a9579432949e4903b687b https://gyazo.com/01f6e884ec51f4da397f88c55a59c545 What should I do to make it work? I would prefer not to have to edit the code if I don't need to.

joshglen
I will be able to get an ssl certificate, that is not the problem. My point though, is that it does not work when I try to enable https at all.
tdr170
You have to have an SSL certificate installed by your host before you can enable SSL in Prestashop. Of course it wont work you don't have an SSL certificate.
joshglen
Ok. I installed an ssl certificate to the website, which is the free general one from aplus.net. However, I don't even get the option to enable ssl because I can't turn on https. The https://gyazo.com/8b2b98c6609a5b222e4db93f2db5898a Button leads to a connection timed out page. My main issue is trying to enable https in the first place. Then I can worry about ssl.
