Removing Field From Customer Registration

I have been trying for weeks to get rid of the date of birth field in the customer information fields when a customer registers for an account.  I can turn off the field as a requirement for registration, but I am still getting comments from people that they will not register with the field asking for date of birth.  I need the field gone.

 

I am not a coder.  I have read many forum posts that show how to fix the problem in the theme authentication code, but I am not comfortable doing that.  Is there a way to make that field disappear without needing to find and remove code?

No, there isn't. Anyway, it is 15 minutes work to remove the code from all appropriate files.
