Can’t modify the module translation

hi

I'm using the German language pack and translated the whole front office section (the German package isn't translated very well), but of course there are still enough English words in my shop, because I have to translate the modules as well. But when I hit the save button, to save my edited module translations I'll get always this error:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /adminxy/index.php on this server.

Why can I translate the front office section but not the module section? Should I edit the CHMOD permissions for my admin index.php file?

Edit: I changed the permissions but there's no change of the mentioned behavior.

I had same problem. You need to change permission in modules direction for language php files. But when I tried to change I had problem with permission setup. Prestashop makes those translate php files automatically(those files had default permissions and I was not permission to change it) and I can't change permission to those files, I asked my host company to make those files so that I can change permission. And then I make write permission to module folder, sub-folders and files.

please, could you write the path of the files and folders where you did your permission cange. Because modules folder can be in 2 directions and i didnot find language.php file or folder in modules directory.... for example /public_html/......./..... , and please write what permisson did you put to folders and files. I currently have the same problem with the current version (PrestaShop v1.5.3.1) and I have tried setting permissions on various files and folders/directories with no luck.

I have made a clean install of Prestashop v1.5.3.1 and as soon as the install procedure completed, I went directly to the “Installed module translations” under the “Default” theme and the “English” language and added a translation for the first item “Bank Wire” setting it to “Bank Wire/Transfer”.

 

I then clicked on the “Update translations” button and got back the familiar result I’ve been getting.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

 

 

To make sure, after the previous test, I set every file and folder to 755 permissions and tried again, but to no avail.

I´m new to prestashop and i love it.I have customized everything and then i wanted to fill the shop with products and then shock..... F**k...

I´m searching for days and days but.... nothing. Some one told me that it could be the mod_security on my apache2 but i have also a joomla site running without any problem. hmmm .

 

If there is somebody out there who could fix this problem, i will pay him a bit money . The problem appears only when i try to put some products to my shop in BO. I´m using the latest PS. I also speak german an italien if there is sombody ....please contact me.

 

PS: It works sometimes, so i put in 7 Products in 8 hours hahahaha.What a sh*t.

hi thank for reply. after i cant get it work, i reinstalled the complete server. and now....tada it works perfect. hmmmm.....but now i dont have mod_security installed.My question is.

 

1.is there a guide to secure the webshop?

2.how necessery is mod_security on a apace2 server?

 

ps:im root on my kvm server with debian .so hosting configs can be changed every time.

2) Module_security is an apache module. This part of apache server helps to protect website from various attacks like sql injections, exploits, regular expressions etc. If you've got possibility - i suggest to use it

 

1) prestashop is totally safe, the main problem with security is with... non-safe external modules developed by noobs

I' having that problem too. From what i know, it happens only in the BO, using translations.

First, i have a "Fatal Error" after saving some translations (in the modules). As far as i can tell, the changes are updated...

Now, i have this error:

Well, the translations are not updated on other languages in the email templates but only for the email modules. Only works on the core email templates in PT, ES or FR - despite the blank "fatal error" page after saving the modifications.

For the EN email templates, there is no "fatal error" but the "Forbidden" error described above. And no modifications are saved to the translations: not for the core or module emails...

 

Any help???
