Redirect Notice... from Google search

Recommended Posts

I have tried some product search to see if google can find my site in resaults.

Finally I found a few resaults pointing my site but when I click the resault it gives
me a redirect page instead of my site. You can see the screen shot.

Has anyone had the same problem? Any solution for that??

I found this blog post from Google on this issue. It appears Google has added a warning message whenever a http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.yoursite.com link is used. One comment says that Google is mistakingly warning for all URLs that have a ? in them. I suggest that you turn on friendly URLs so that question marks are not used in your URLs unless absolutely necessary.

No, I don't know any Windows server experts, but there probably are some on the forums. I did a Google search and found this page that has a sample .htaccess file and the equivalent Web.config file for Windows. There is a rewrite section in there too, which is what friendly URLs use.

Hi SpyrosT

I tested your google link: I search "www.digiway-cy.com lg gsa-h55n" clic link; it's work fine.

Google work fine with simple URL and rewriteURL (for better result you must use Google Webmaster)

Link below first response in Google search is http://www.google.fr/url?q=http://www.digiway-cy.com/.....
if this link is dead, Google delete this link after more day.

For info: I use ISAPI REWRITE with IIS6 (64bits)

Hi misou.cn,

Thanks for your reply.

Rocky firslty suggested that I will have to turn on friendly URLs.
As you can see in the rest conversation, using a win server this will not work for me.
Then Bruno gave me your fix in the bug report.

Can you help me on that? How to do it?

Tnx

edit: I do use the Google Analytics and Webmaster tools.

Turn on friendly URL is not solution for your problem; with friendly URL, it's same; It's why I not explain rewriteURL.
I have same link for my webshop: 1st is direct, 2nd,3rd.. are google redirect.

But friendly URL is better(for search), product name or other info displayed in URL, but only if you enter correct friendly URL for categories and product;
PS not good for this!! friendly URL is not visible by default, must open SEO; If you rename product, you must rename friendly URL (not auto), and for all language.

For RewriteURL= friendly URL; I use ISAPI filter: "ISAPI REWRITE"
the rule is same as .htaccess (just copy rule); or with full version you can use .htaccess directly same as apache.
I use 64bits server, and ISAPIREWRITE have 64 bits version :D
install by MSI installer.
