Duplicate Category Names In Blocklayered Module.

I've come across an issue with the blocklayered module, and need a possible solution please:

 

I have a main category "CLOTHING", with 2 subcategories "Mens" & Womens".

 

Both mens and womens categories have categories "Jackets", "Sweatshirts", "Jumpers" etc...

 

The problem is, when someone clicks on the "CLOTHING" category in the shop, the blocklayered filter displays all the category names twice, obviously because they have the same name.

 

I didn't want to name the categories "Mens Jackets", Mens Sweatshirts" etc.. as it looks messy in the top menu.

 

Is there a way of changing the blocklayered menu, or the top menu, to show different names for categories (like a translation)? It's a shame that there's not an option on the category to have a "top menu name" or something similar.

 

Using PS 1.6.0.14

 

Any ideas??
