after installing no data in Employee table

Hi,
I am a newbie, can someone please help.
After installing prestashop, all tables in my database are filled with the correct information.
The Employee table has no data on admin i.e. email. password,etc...
I did write my info into that table and saved the info, but still can not log in to admin area.
Have tried most solutions suggested by other forum members, but still no luck.

This might be related to your php versions, or some strict .htaccess filtering

* Some PHP 5 versions are bugged and prevent PrestaShop from working correctly:
PHP 5.2.1 (authentication is impossible)
PHP 5.2.6 (authentication is impossible under 64bits servers)
PHP 5.2.9 (image management/upload broken)
PHP < 5.2 (invalid date timezone)
