Htaccess generator @$%#^&$ my site- it's blank!!

Seriously, WHY is .htaccess generator even in the tools tab? I'm trying to do a re-write on url's and pressed that generator button and now my site is blank! I can't even access my site admin.

Don't tell me I have to start over.

Did you delete .htaccess file from you ftp?

I deleted the .htaccess files that got generated today but there are 2 more in htaccess files in my ftp.
Do I just need to erase everything and upload again?

Just delete .htaccess, look result. I do not think that .htaccess can do like you said

Well, I don't know what the problem is. I just went to tools and pressed on htaccess generator and then my site went blank. It actually gives you a warning that it will delete current htaccess file but I thought it would get replaced by something else that would help me rewrite my files.

Try adding the following at the top of your htaccess file

AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php

Some hosting companies will default to php4 unless the above line is in the htaccess file, and when Prestashop generates the htaccess file, it doesn't add the line.

Hi there I had the same problem with the .htaccess generator.
After I had generated the file my site stays blank.

Im still heaving the problem with blank page after generating file....


I added "AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php" to the clear .htaccess file. I clicked generate file and after that my shop is blank!

any ideas?

First, try to enable debugging (edit /config/config.inc.php line 4, change 'off' to 'on') and see if you get an error.

Ive found the sollution!!

In my case, i had to remove all "E" parameters from the end of the lines

for example:

RewriteRule ^([a-z0-9]+)\-([a-z0-9]+)(\-[_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/([_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.jpg$ /img/p/$1-$2$3.jpg [L, E]

to

RewriteRule ^([a-z0-9]+)\-([a-z0-9]+)(\-[_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/([_a-zA-Z0-9-]*)\.jpg$ /img/p/$1-$2$3.jpg [L]

etc....

Why?? I have no idea ..... but it works!

Hi all,
This morning, nearing the completion of setting up my store, ready to launch.... I pressed the god damned .htaccess generator button. I got a blank page immediately and now I cannot access anything.

This is the code that got generated and I have no idea how to just restore it to how it was...

I added the php5 script as suggested, but it had no impact that I could see.

I found that this is what corrects it at the top of the .htaccess as I use 1and1 hosting. Hope that helps.
