Auto Generated Image

Dear all,

 

I really new in prestashop, i want to know about auto generate image in default theme prestashop. what ideal image size or pixel maximal to be uploaded? so my visitor wouldnt slow open my web. I mean for example i upload image with size 2MB, what will prestashop do, is prestashop shrink my image into several size and pixel forever and keep it on the cloud and delete permanent my 2MB image?  or they just keep my 2MB image on th cloud and shrink it every time visitor view my product image? 

 

My country low internet speed in many area.
