RobbieBlokeToys
As we all know, all retailers need a blog these days. I didn't quite realize just how much we need a blog until I compared a long list of my items of stock in Google. Consistently, my links showing up on page 1 and 2 are all blog posts, with the Prestashop result showing up on page 4 or 5, if at all. With over 500 items in the shop now, most of them are not appearing in Google in the first 6 - 10 pages of results. But a blog post, that's almost always on page 1 or 2. What's the deal Presta? How come my product pages appear to be so useless while Wordpress blog posts are so eagerly offered in their place?
Krystian Podemski
For what phrases? Same for shop and blog? Remember that Google can treat differently sites by taking into account their topic - shop, price comparator, blog, company website etc. I assume that you have created sitemap.xml for PrestaShop in Google module? Audrey Zack
You may change the keywords in title and meta descriptions. Simply you can go for LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords and check the results in SERP afterwards. RobbieBlokeToys
Its the same terms I use, usually the product name. It's a consistently similar story no matter what the product. Admittedly there is more content in a blog post, but if you're searching for a product it's usually Amazon, eBay or a main competitor in the niche appearing in the top four, then my blog post, then all my smaller competition, follwed on page 3 or 4 or even 10 for the actual product in my shop. I've also noticed that when I add a new product that most others don't have and then search on that a week later, all kinds of different categories from my site appear in the results rather than the actual product page. It seems to be picking up the mention of the product from the New Products block in the side bar on the left of all categories and not the actual product page itself.
