How To Remove Opt-In Newsletter And Sponsored Content From Partners In Ps V1.6.1.3?

I updated today to v 1.6.1.3 and noticed with testing that the check boxes for opt-in newsletter and sponsored partner content are by default there (see attached file). I want them removed.

 

I already have set it all to no in BO under preferences -> customer, but it does not make any changes to the FO.

 

I found some topics online telling to delete the code in tpl files that refer to those subjects, but I do not know which exact parts to delete, without breaking the PHP code and by that my store. HTML & CSS I know but PHP is beyond my knowledge.

 

IS IT A BUG in v1.6.1.3? How should I fix this?

You can disable it in the Back Office > Preferences > Customers

Thank you but I think you did not read my topic at all, besides the title;-)

 

BO-preferences etc SHOULD be the way to do it, but it does NOT work. I disabled those stuff already before I posted my problem and it STILL shows in my store:-/

Also refreshing browser cash did not help.

I have the same problem with non-default theme.

 

The solution is to edit these files and comment out the relevant parts:

authentication.tpl
order-opc-new-account.tpl

identity.tpl
