How Can I Add A Null Attribute For Product Combinations?

Recommended Posts

I want to add two variations (Prestashop calls combinations) to a product: Mac OS, and Windows.

I created an attribute and added two values: Mac OS, and Windows. So far so good!

When I add the two variations (combinations) to a product, one is always selected as the default.

This means if customer isn't forced to choose a variation before checkout, then the default will get sent (i.e., Mac OS version but customer may want Windows version).

How can I force customer to choose a variation?

Thanks.

Well, it applies to all variations of a product. I looked at major retail sites and, unsurprisingly, they all force customer to make a choice, if they don't, they cannot add item to shopping cart. I filed a feature enhancement, if you care, please search for it on the bugs site and add your weight.

forge.prestashop.com?

Could you post a link to your submission if you don't mind?  I searched for your submission for "attribute" or "combination" keywords but did not locate it.

I wasn't at the computer before so couldn't send link. Here it is, plus others that may interest you:
