Prestashop Dom Elements Performance Cost

Greetings to all the prestashop community members. I've recently been facing performance issues with my prestashop store, and so far I suspect of the DOM elements.

 

From the reading of several post in the DEV's blog, I've got to know that javascript is one of the main causes of performance issues in prestashop, thus being javascript also one of my suspects since it has to process all the DOM elements in the page.

 

That's why I opened this thread, to ask other community members for their opinion and knowledge regarding the performance cost of DOM elements within prestashop.

Hopefully we can create a great thread for future reference.

I'm currently using Prestashop 1.6.2 and these are my DOM stats:

 

2562 elements

3781 nodes

15.3 average nesting depth

355.9k serialized DOM size
