Stuck on install step 3 mmap cache can't open settings.inc.php.

Recommended Posts

Prestashop v1.2.5.0

mysql 5.0.22

Install is all fine, but wont get past step 3.
Database and email test features work fine.
All directories and files have full r/w/d permissions.

[Wed Mar 24 16:41:05 2010] [warn-phpd] mmap cache can't open C:\Inetpub\vhosts\xxx.com.xxx\httpdocs\prestashop\config\settings.inc.php (pid 1908540 th 1900020)

The database seems to have been configured, at least partially.
Inspection of settings.inc.php reveals it has indeed been populated with settings data.

I realise this is an old and very common problem, but can anyone tell me what's going on?

I've determined that the error 14 part goes away if I drop the db and start again, so now I just need to resolve the settings.inc.php issue.

Hellooooo? Anyone? Where can I look to find a solution? Man. It's lonely around here.

I have the same problem. Can't work out how to fix it.

DB appears to be setup (and if I go to the home page the store seems to be ready), but because I can't get to set 4 I can't setup an admin.

I've spent days looking at it - no use.

I gave up and tried DotNetNuke since I'm running on a winodws hosting service.
It installed real easy and I had a site running in less than an hour.
It looks a lot better than presta and has many, many more addons both open source and paid.

Hi Benblip,

Yeah I'm running DotNetNuke on one of my other sites and love it, but I haven't found a decent cheap shopping cart to integrate into it. do you know of any?

I've got ZenCart on a third site, and that is ok, but isn't set up for a non-tech person to maintain so I'm having to do a lot more work than I would hope.

I'm trying nb_store (open source), still setting it up but it seems to do most of what I need.
My [spam-filter] has a handbag shop, so I too wanted something that was non-tech.
She's managed to set up the inventory okay so far!

I'm having the exact same issue with my install. PHP 5.3.2 with prestashop 1.3.1.1 on iis6. iusr has write permissions.

It will not get past step 3 even after it verifies and has written to db. The setting.inc.php was created and written to as well. I even tried it withouth checking the e-mail configuration.

Does anyone have a fix for this?
