Question mark is displayed instead of £ (£) (pound)

Hi,

 

Question mark is displayed instead of £ (£) (pound) everywhere :S

I changed the classes/db php file to this:
 

// UTF-8 support
        /*if ($this->link->exec('SET NAMES \'utf8\'') === false) {
            die(Tools::displayError('PrestaShop Fatal error: no utf-8 support. Please check your server configuration.'));
        }*/

because i've got that error message.

I am using ipage's hosting.
