Enrique Gómez Posted November 10, 2015 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Hi The question is We are going to translate the shop to anther language (let's say a similar language) , but at this phase only home, cms pages and category pages. At this moment product pages are not translated yet, so to avoid duplicated content SEO problems I suggested using canonical in the new cloned products (for the new language) pages that points to the old/main language/well positioned/ product page. Our SEO guy has literally said: The Cannonical rel-tag is only an indicative to Google about their importance and it is not effective to solve the duplicate content because Google will index it anyway.
