Proper use of combinations

Recommended Posts

Trying to figure out the correct way to use combinations with items that change value and items that don't.

I created some product attributes of: Language, Color, Addon.

Language will not change the price.

Color has it's adjustments.

Addon dropdown has it's own adjustments as well.

In the product combinations I add each of these on their own for each value under it.

When the color is default with no up charge and an addon is selected, the price doesn't change.

When the color is not default and the addon is chosen, the price for the addon isn't added.

Do I really have to structure it as follows.

Color Default (no charge) , No Addon (no charge)

Color 1, no addon (charge)

color 1, addond 1 (charge for both) ...etc?

This would get really messy and very long. I'm I not looking at this right or does it really have to be messy and long?
