Is there a module for the back office that controls the expiration date of food?

Is there a module for the back office that controls the expiration date for foods? I don't want to show it as a characteristic in the front office. Just have the chance to control it from the back office. 

Any suggestions?

Never seen anything like that, maybe you will need pay for a custom module.
