Fatal error installing prestashop 1.6 in Freebsd 9.3

Hi community!

I am getting an error as soon as I open my web browser to finish the installation of prestashop 1.6 in FreeBSD 9.3

After reading the troubleshoot information for installing prestashop 1.6, I enabled error display and I get the following:

 

Fatal error: Class 'SimpleXMLElement' not found in /usr/local/www/prestashop/install/classes/simplexml.php on line 28

 

Any ideas on how to solve this?
