Postcode Not Valid - DESPERATELY NEED A FIX

Hi,

 

I have been searching high and low for a solution to this, but even though it seems to have been a problem for many for 4 years no one seems to have any solution.

 

No one can add a postcode to the account creation form or delivery address without it showing a red cross as error, which is resulting in many abandoned orders.

 

Customers can proceed without adding a postcode, but they don't know that, so when they see the error they abandon the order and leave.

 

Making postcode not required removes it from the address forms, but it's needed in address forms - so this is not a fix.

 

I need to find a way to make it visible but not required, or to make it required but actually function as it should.

 

Does anyone have any solution to this problem at all?

 

Also, I would advise everyone using PS to check that this is not a problem on their sites too. I have a feeling there are a lot more users experiencing this problem and they just don't know it because they don't check their own order process regularly.

Come on guys, this has been a problem for 4 years now and it seem to be just being ignored when it's a massively major problem.

There must be one person out there who at least knows how to make the Postcode not required but still visible,

 

All I need to know is what lines of code need to be changed to make the postcode field visible but not required.

 

Anyone?
