Blah_Blah_Blah
I've searched and read up on others with issues and still cannot find the answer to why I am having problems so please bear with me.When I load the file of product from the drop ship program I am using I save it as a comma delimited file and it gets saved and controlled by Excel. When I try to import that file to Prestashop I get many errors and the file does not load show up in the store.I've also tried various combinations of Tab delimiting, changing the separators and so on.The only way I can get it to work is saving it as a txt file and manually placing the commas and semi colons where they belong. By doing that it takes as much time as if I were to type or cut and paste each item itself. Can anyone help me with what I am doing wrong?
rylersbud
iF YOU OPEN THE FILE AND SAVE IT AS A CSV FILE THEN YOU MUST OPEN WITH NOTEPAD AND WHEN YOU SAVE AS YOU MUST SELECT UTF-8 TYPE TXT FILE THEN UPLOAD IT TO THE SERVER IMPORT FOLDER AND SELECT IT IN THE DROPDOWN LIST FOR THE IMPORT TOOL
Blah_Blah_Blah
Thanks saving as UTF-8 helped a lot. However now the PrestaShop BO is telling me I cannot save two columns as the same.I've gone back and checked and rechecked and the only columns that are marked the same are Ignored Columns. Blah_Blah_Blah
Wow I just cannot get this importing a csv file to work right. Am I the only one having this issue?I cannot ever get the csv to import without errors. The txt file will import correctly if I can get past the column issue above. rylersbud
Probably duplicate data in a key field so it will be a problem and through an error everytime
Blah_Blah_Blah
With the file I was using that could have been an issue. I'll check that later on, thanks.Still one more question why will Prestashop not load it as .csv extention?
rylersbud
Because it has to be utf-8 for it to see the file is my bestguess
