recomened product image size

Hi

Im new to presta shop.  Is there a guideline as to how large the product image should be when importing to presta shop?

Can I just copy images from my supliers off their web sites, or is it better to use photoshop and sve for web . But then at what size?

Hi Gary,

 

If you have just started with with Prestashop go to Preferences > Images. There you will see a list of the default image sizes.I would recommend to keep the default sizes unless you have a really compelling reason to change to different sizes.

Thanks for the reply. I dont want to mess with the default settings. I mean when I save an image in the first place, so i can import it into Presta Shop. Does the size of the image matter, or does the program take care of an image that too large?

Hi Gary,

Prestashop automatically resizes images to the default sizes. But if your original images are way off default then you will get issues with image quality (for example if your original images are too small).
